1125. This above-mentioned delight in and admiration of the opposite party is praised and celebrated as "love" by poets and authors from the same step in evolution. But, as every intellectually gifted human being will see here, this "love" is absolutely not "love" in its purest form; indeed, it is not real "love" at all, but, on the contrary, constitutes merely the feeling of pleasure or wellbeing that always accompanies the natural satisfaction of a strong, natural desire. It is actually the same feeling as that which the thirsty wanderer in the desert has for much-desired water. Just as this water in this wanderer's thought and consciousness constitutes an even more glorious light and central point in his fondest dreams the stronger his thirst is, thus too a being becomes the paramount, vital point of light for a being of the "opposite sex" the greater this latter being's thirst is, which thus means the more it has to do without and miss such a being here. Indeed, this thirst or hunger can become downright detrimental to life or destructive for both its soul and body at a certain step in evolution if it is not satisfied at all. The strong longing for a being of the "opposite sex" or so-called "amorous love" is completely analogous with purely material hunger or thirst, with the sole difference that it is more mental in nature, more to do with the consciousness.
