The difference between a "half being" and a "whole being". The organic structure of the "perfect human being" turns our "neighbour" into a "new sex"
1135. Now, what is the difference between the manifestations of such a "whole being" and those of a "half being"? Well, whereas the manifestations of the latter being are concentrated on the conquest or worship of the "opposite sex", and on a corresponding struggle with or persecution of its "own sex", thereby turning existence into a perpetual battleground, a war zone and thereby a domain of suffering and difficulties, the manifestations of the former being are concentrated not on any "other sex", since, as previously mentioned, in relation to this being there is no "other sex", but solely on its "neighbour", which in turn means, all living beings. There is no particular sex to desire; there is therefore no sex to compete for, just as "unrequited love" cannot occur in any form either. The being's organic structure is thus totally transformed. Whereas this structure of "man" and "woman" demanded a particular, specific being of the "opposite sex", thereby creating sympathetic feelings for or attraction to beings of this "opposite sex" and a certain development of "love" for these beings, the organic structure of the "perfect human being" now manifests itself as "sympathetic feelings" for or "attraction" to "one's neighbour" and as "antipathy" for absolutely no one. One's "neighbour" is thus the "specific being" that has supplanted the "opposite sex". One's "neighbour" has become the "new sex". And to this sex thus belongs the being itself as well as all other existing "living beings". Of course this "neighbour" (all living beings) also exists for "man" and "woman", but this "neighbour" does not constitute a specific "sex" for them. There is no organic, sexual connection between the "male being" and his "neighbour" or between the "female being" and her "neighbour". Only when this "neighbour" is a being of the "opposite sex" and of their own race or species does the organic structure react and the "sympathetic feelings" or "attraction" seeks sexual satisfaction.
