The one hundred per cent marital being can fulfil the Creator's commandment about multiplying the human race, but it cannot possibly fulfil His commandment about "subduing the Earth". This fulfilment can be promoted only by quite other beings

1149. But the almighty Godhead commanded Adam and Eve to do something more than "Be fruitful, and multiply". The divine will and intention for the Earth was not merely to fill it up with terrestrial human beings, but it was also to make these beings "subdue the Earth". But this part of the divine commandment, which implies ingenious creativity or skill, cannot be fulfilled by the above-mentioned one hundred per cent maritally minded beings. And it is thus here established as fact that the task of these beings is to "increase" or "multiply" the terrestrial human beings, while other beings are needed to "subdue" the Earth. So the one hundred per cent main interest of these other beings must be this "subduing" to the same extent as the main interest of the other beings is family life or marital phenomena.
