1160. Since it is not the task of the "Bible" to give detailed scientific analyses of the process of creation for the high-intellectual being – this being can of course be helped only by "the comforter, the Holy Spirit" – but on the contrary to give only the main points or main analyses of the process of creation and the mystery of life in symbols or parables, which means, in a form in which these analyses or principal points are compared to something familiar to the being endowed with an inferior intellect, we see thus that life's highest answers are expounded throughout the "Bible" only in images or words that otherwise express only the things that occur within the unintellectual being's daily horizon. Thus the entire period of time taken for creation became "six days" instead of the "six great epochs of evolution", which it took in the absolute sense. The unintellectual being, who can understand the Godhead only on its own scale and can therefore understand "creation" only as a "miracle", would be quite unable to grasp the fact that the "creation" of the "human being" or for that matter the "creation" of anything could take a godhead a vast period of time. For example, the fact that the Godhead, Providence or Nature took millions upon millions of years to create "light", which thus means, the solar or fiery state that the first emergence of every planet on the physical plane must go through, is thus beyond this being's comprehension. Telling this being that the emergence of the Earth, comprising as it does of "land" and "sea" also took millions of years, and that the emergence of the plant world, the animal kingdom and the human kingdom itself are likewise phenomena that took millions of years, would not give this being a particularly invigorating or stimulating concept of an "almighty" godhead. A godhead who could not create or simply conjure up things instantaneously from "nothing" on the spur of the moment, which means, within a space of time comprehensible to this unintellectual being, could not be "almighty". In order to explain why the things could not be created more quickly, detailed scientific analyses are needed, and it is of course precisely such analyses that a primitive, unintellectual or simple-minded being finds impossible to work with or grasp. The unintellectual being is on the contrary inclined to believe purely "instinctively" in an "almighty" godhead or a sovereign providence in one form or another – and in this godhead's ability to work "miracles" – but of course in the simple-minded being's own image. Things must instantaneously obey the words and thoughts of the simple-minded person's godhead. If the opposite were the case this simple-minded or primitive being's brain and faculty to perceive could not possibly accept this godhead.
