1166. The purpose of the divine accounts handed down in the "Bible" and other sacred books is more to be "guidance" for one specific step or other in the "zones of adaptation", where the being's own visual power is not yet adequate, than it is their task to be a scientifically detailed expression of the whole, eternal truth for all steps. Such an analysis is of course only for the being endowed with high-intellectuality, and not for the primitive being. It is the recognition of this that stimulates the world redeemer to promise the coming of just such a high-intellectual analysis in the form of "the comforter, the holy spirit", who will teach the people what his contemporaries could not grasp. The "holy spirit" is of course nothing less than the very highest knowledge of God; indeed, it is the solution to the mystery of life itself, which thus means, the absolute truth stripped of its previous veils and adaptations to the unintellectual steps, so as to appear in its absolute, purest form as a logical series of thoughts or a scientific structure that can nourish beings who are hungry for high-intellectual or spiritual science. This revelation of the "holy spirit" is thus the final phase of world redemption in the spiral cycle. After this phase the being can begin to see the details of the highest light by means of its own visual power or ability to sense, and then no longer needs other beings' guidance or interpretations of the eternal light.
