1183. With regard to the above, one will perhaps claim that God understood that "it was not good that man should be alone", and therefore created "Eve". But what was it the Godhead created here, seen from a cosmic point of view? It was not a "new being", for every living being is of course eternal. But if it was not a "new living being" that he created, it could be only a "transformation" of the already existing being that took place. And the being that already existed is mentioned as "Adam". The transformation had thus to take place in this being. The "Bible" also tells us that "Adam" existed on his own, and that "Eve" was created only at a later point in time when God saw that it was not good for "Adam" to be alone. This first "Adam" was thus a being of light, that is, a soul that had lived so long in the light side of the spiral that it had entirely forgotten the phenomenon of darkness, at the same time as the phenomenon of light, which had long since been transformed into C-knowledge or automatic functioning, had left its awake day-consciousness. The above-mentioned being was thus mainly a "being of instinct" and had therefore only a very small awake day-consciousness on the physical plane. Its functions were carried out one hundred per cent by "instinct". And since this "instinct" was "cosmic consciousness" converted into automatic functioning, the manifestations of the above-mentioned being became a reflection of the cosmic world's manifestation of light. The being's manifestations on Earth became therefore largely an introduction of the radiance of this cosmic world into physical matter. But only in the "plant being" do we find a "being of instinct" that has not yet entered the zone of the principle of killing, but on the physical plane displays nothing but a reflection of the glory of the higher worlds. "Mineral manifestations" are certainly also "energy of bliss" that has been transformed, but the originator of this energy still has no day-conscious form whatsoever on the physical plane. The "plant being" is thus the first feeble terrestrial, physical appearance of "Adam", that is, the appearance in which "Adam" is still closest to the "clay" from which "God created him". This "Adam" was not a "one-poled" being, he was not a "specifically male being", and he was not a "specifically female being". He was on the contrary a "double-poled" being, that is, a being in which the organic structure of the divine world was still functioning, that structure which can promote absolutely nothing but love or the existence in the light in the "Garden of Eden".
