A "honeymoon" is merely a weak reflection of the original divine marriage
1202. This flock thus knows nothing of the original divine marriage, where the spouses were completely "one flesh", had the same interests, the same will, the same attitude to life, and where the "man" was the head of the "woman", her absolute master or possessor. Is it not the case today that the divine marriage occurs as merely a brief period at the beginning of a modern marriage, where both parties are still very much in love with one another? In this initial period of the marriage the couple's mutual possession of one another is their all-outshining sphere of interest, neutralising or dissolving any other interests that are not to the advantage of this possession. This period of the marriage is therefore a light and happy period for the couple involved and has thus been termed the "honeymoon". A "honeymoon" is thus a weak reflection or reverberation of the original divine marriage.
