1210. In the "period of marriage" married life causes no difficulties, since both parties here constitute the complete, mutual satisfaction of one another's innermost physical and mental desires. And the marriage is light and yet more light. No other interest whatsoever, neither spiritual nor material, can compare with the beings' mutual desire for and interest in one another. The mutual possession of one another's soul and body is the highest sun in their lives. Everything else pales completely beside this; everything is darkness or shadow. Here we have before us "Adam" and "Eve" in the "Garden of Eden", which means a new variation of the principle of paradise, or the story of paradise presented in such a way as to affect the terrestrial human being more closely.
