1211. But in every "paradise" there is a "fall". The "Garden of Eden" in the form of "perfect marriage" has therefore also its "fall" and its subsequent "expulsion from paradise". This "fall" comprised the "eating of the tree of knowledge" provoked by the "serpent's seduction". Here the "serpent" is in turn the principle of world redemption, whose task it is to continuously lead the beings further and further through the darkness to light as a consequence of the divine world plan or the law of the cycle, which is based solely on "hunger" and "satiation". In the "perfect marriage", which means, during the "honeymoon" of the marriage, "Adam" and "Eve", through the lavish, all-eclipsing enjoyment of one another's soul and body, gradually become satiated with one another. A corresponding longing or hunger for a "change", that is, for a new variation of happiness or satisfaction of desire, therefore arises in their consciousness.
