The being's meeting with the opposite sex as a ray from heaven. A sphere in which "Adam" and "Eve" are not entirely separate as an independent "male being" and an independent "female being"
1222. But in the very depths of this night, this eternal darkness, the Godhead has not left His son entirely on his own. The eternal Father has allowed a ray from the heavenly world, from which the living being has come, to go on sparkling, shining and giving out light behind the darkness and stillness of the long night. This ray from heaven is the being's meeting with the opposite sex. We know of course that "Eve" had long since come into existence, indeed, even before "Adam" had attained an awake day-conscious "will" and left the "plant kingdom". We know that for a time they had both been in this kingdom or the "Garden of Eden", but here they were in reality both still mentally so undeveloped that their immediate need and necessity for one another had not really woken at all. Here they both in a way still represented "deep sleep". For this reason they had not entirely separated from one another either and were not completely independent of one another as specific beings representing the male principle and the female principle. Even today we can therefore see the unfinished state of the first sexual couples in those species of plants in which "male flowers" and "female flowers" occur on the same plant or in the same organism. Such an organism is an expression of neither an independent "male being" nor an independent "female being", just as it is not an expression of a "double-poled" being either. On the contrary, it is an expression of an organism within which both "male beings" and "female beings" exist, which thus means, several souls, several I's in the same organism or in the same physical body. It is of course obvious that the divine creation of "Eve" at this point is not entirely or completely finished. The object of the divine plan is to create two independent sexual beings of opposite sexes. And this independence will not be complete until the beings each appear in their own specific independent body for their correspondingly specific sexual nature. And it is with this completed structure that we rediscover "Adam" and "Eve" or the living beings in the animal kingdom as "specifically male beings" and "specifically female beings". And by virtue of their specific nature as "marital partners", the two species of beings come to constitute for one another the divine ray from heaven that shall shine upon the son of God on his way through the cold and dank regions of darkness and suffering.
