Those beings or citizens for whom the laws of society or the prohibitions against "theft", "fraud" and "taking revenge" do not seem oppressive – because they have no tendencies whatsoever in these directions – establish as fact that there is something other than the laws of society with their imprisonment and "punishment" that transforms the beings' psyche and attitude to life.
As far as these beings are concerned there is no need for the laws of society.
They carry compliance with these laws in their heart, reason and nature, just as these beings are naturally also more or less the soul or force behind the creation and maintenance of the most elevated of these laws.
This does not, of course, mean that all "politicians" and legislators are angels; on the contrary, even now a considerable number of them are "politicians" merely for egoistic, and thereby more or less "criminal", reasons, which here means, because they have an interest in implementing some legislation that is amoral and against the interests of the community, but that satisfies the egoistic interests of their political party.
That these kinds of "politicians" are, so to speak, geniuses at disguising their truly "shady" "politics" as assets that are absolutely indispensable for society, regardless of whether it is a matter of robbing other states of their assets and natural resources or goods, their raw materials, minerals or particularly profitable territories, harbours and cities and so on by "diplomatic" or military means, or regardless of whether it is a matter of satisfying specific, excessively selfish desires within their own territories at the expense of their less favourably situated citizens.
That such "politicians", who are still characterised by "animal" tendencies, are actually society's greatest "criminals" and are the greatest obstacle to the former "politicians" in their efforts to create true humanity and culture in the relationship of their state to foreign countries and to its own internal affairs, as well as to the daily life and wellbeing of its citizens, becomes abundantly clear from the all-consuming, destructive "fires of hell" that, in many different undisguised and disguised forms, together trigger what we call "war", including also "civil war".
If everyone bore in their heart and in their daily way of interacting with their fellow beings and surroundings a truly unselfish or neighbourly loving public spirit, how then could all the "political" intrigues and the employment of a ruthless manifestation of power, which are overwhelmingly advantageous to particular parties, otherwise occur?
But here we must, however, refer the reader to Chapter Four of the present work, where the main analyses of the future, perfect, natural, social organisation are presented.
We mention these topics here only in order to call attention to the fact that
the psyche of the individual cannot be transformed by brute force.
It cannot be brought to mental or spiritual uniformity by an order or a statute.
