1275. But this situation would not be any different if the missing element was the "energy of intuition". The existence of the three known "variations of substance" in life, namely, the "solid", "liquid" and "gaseous" state, is insufficient for the creation of life and existence. It is quite true that, as yet, not so much is known about the fourth "variation of matter", but this does not of course mean that it does not exist or is unnecessary. This "variation of substance" constitutes the entire aspect of matter or substance that is "ray-formed" or, in brief, constitutes "spiritual matter". What is "spiritual matter" other than the substances or phenomena that one cannot directly sense with one's physical senses, and therefore at the very most can perceive only through their indirect effect on the physical plane? Of these "spiritual substances" the "energy of intuition" is the absolute culmination. How could any life or any kind of thought, any inner spiritual vision or any literary work, any work of art be experienced in the consciousness if matter could not occur in a "ray-formed" or "spiritual state", which means, in a superphysical state? "Thinking" would of course be completely non-existent. And, that being so, all conscious mental life would be an impossibility. The "energy of intuition" is precisely the special substance for all "creation" that is one-hundred-per-cent "spiritual". Here too, a permanent "nothing" would govern the eternity that today is the incontestable domain of the Godhead and the son of God.
