The "mother energy" is the living being's "creative faculty" or "superconsciousness" and can never, as is the case with the other materials or substances, become "solid", "liquid" or "gaseous" in nature, but will always occur only as "ray-formed"

This energy differs from all the other kinds of energy in that it is not, like these, subject to the cycle, It can never, as is the case with the other energies, become solid, liquid or gaseous. It can thus never become physical in nature, but will eternally and unfailingly occur only in a "ray-formed" state, and its existence will be accessible to the senses only indirectly as a "creative faculty" existing behind the substances. And as such, it is present and is felt in every living being. But since this creative faculty functions both when the being is discarnated and when it is in physical matter, both when it is asleep and when it is awake, both outside and inside its clear, day-conscious sphere, we have here in Livets Bog expressed this "creative faculty" or "mother energy" as the living being's "superconsciousness".
