1330. And people thus became so good at intellectualising their camouflaging of the use of brute force and brutality in the service of selfishness that the entire world became simply a slave of this intellectualisation of the primitive animal principle, the animal methods of self-preservation. Indeed, their camouflage developed such genius and became so deeply rooted in all souls that each of them actually became its victims. It became an ideal that they all endeavoured to become good at manifesting. Indeed, they worshipped the institutions for the camouflage of the killing principle, and gave them their vote. And these institutions grew and grew and became the cornerstones in creating the daily lives of terrestrial human beings. These cornerstones became evident in the form of huge temples of finance, stock exchanges and business institutions, banks and savings banks, share companies, concerns and trusts, which all without exception promoted the "false principle of business", that is, the "greatest possible value for the least possible payment". This "false principle of business", with its marble palaces and accumulations of capital, became the absolutely strongest force within terrestrial mankind. It left its mark on all the phenomena of daily life. It stamped or inscribed everything with its deadly seal as either "destitution" or "wealth", as either degradation and persecution or admiration and worship. The modern "Croesus" and the modern "tramp" became the two extremes of this daily life.
