Modern civilisation of today is a "culture of war". All are mobilised "soldiers" on the economic front in the fight for money and assets
1332. It is, indeed, true that in recent decades society's "antisocial holes" have been patched a little by means of "trade organisations", which then in turn have brought about the creation of associations and confederations for employers and capitalists, but are not these two parties, the "workers" and the "employers", in the form of their organisations, armed forces that constantly react to one another? Is a reaction between two forces that are armed or mobilised for war not the same as "war"? And is this "war" today not the point of balance in the entire terrestrial human existence? Do not all people participate as "soldiers" or "warriors" in this battle for capital, this battle for money and assets? Who is outside this "war"? Are not priests, bishops and other clergy and teachers as well as all public servants and workers compelled to be mobilised as "soldiers" or "warriors" on this all-determining daily front? Is not anyone who is outside of this and does not have a "membership card" to his trade union or organisation the same as a so-called "blackleg" who must be shut out as quickly as possible, if indeed this person succeeded at all in gaining employment or getting a job within this service or trade? Is this "freedom"? Is this the "peace" that people are hungering for? The factors described above are nonetheless the absolutely dominant structure in the life of the community that is acknowledged today as a highly developed, modern "civilisation" or "culture". Surely the fact that this "culture" must be a "culture of war", a "civilisation" of the sword, of hatred and of retribution, should not be difficult to grasp!
