Why all the "religious" and "political" communities have not long since fused into the common spirit or interdependence of a perfect brotherhood
1344. Why have the "political" and "religious" communities in the world not long since fused together into this spirit and conduct of brotherhood and fellow-feeling? It is because they still contain a great deal of the forces, influences and restraints of the dying dark world impulse. They cannot suddenly renounce the effects of the old impulse, which of course to a great extent still occur as habitual consciousness, talents and aptitudes or as "C-knowledge" and the satisfaction of desires that they still believe or think are absolutely vital, such as "righteous indignation", "holy wrath" or other camouflaged infringements of the law of neighbourly love or the commandment to "put up again thy sword into his place", to "turn the other cheek" and so on. In all these camouflaged infringements of the law of neighbourly love we still see the heathen forces of the old world impulse that lead it downwards into darkness. These forces are the only ones that keep people out of the future "kingdom of heaven". It is the effects of these forces that have gradually contaminated pure Buddhism, Christianity and Islam, and that have dispersed the worshippers or followers of these great world religions into a great many more or less impure religious communities, sects and "political" parties.
