The spiral cycle is "justice" itself made manifest in all matter
1411. And it then becomes understandable why existence takes the form of a "ladder of evolution" with its multitude of steps, because it is formed by and for this divine "something" alone. This divine "something", by means of its bodies and thereby as individuals, passes down and up the steps with an eternally changing desire, regulated by hunger and satiation. From Livets Bog we already know this passage as the "spiral cycle". But since this "something", in the form of the living beings, thus constitutes and is conditioned by this "spiral cycle", this cycle constitutes "justice" itself made manifest in all matter, from the tiniest perceptible micro-details to the most gigantic objects occurring in infinite space. Are not electrons, molecules, atoms as well as the gigantic suns or the gigantic planets in the universe of stars subject to the cycle's all-penetrating process of transformation? Is there any kind of matter that cannot occur in each of these states: liquid, gaseous, ray-formed and solid? And what is this transformative ability other than the gateway to "justice"? Nothing is doomed to remain in the same state, indeed, nothing can express absolute stillness. And so the running of the water down into the sewer as sewage containing all kinds of impurities is of course not the end of it. Is it not precisely this sewage that is in turn carried by the cycle through the material phenomena that will turn it back into crystal-clear drinking water that can quench our thirst, or will turn it into the pure, refreshing air that we breathe into our blood, as well as being a material that contributes to the creation of wonderful blue summer skies with their white clouds? Indeed, is water not the main constituent of the beautiful scenes that we know as sunrise and sunset? Is it not water, likewise aided by the cycle, that gives the meadows the white mists that form the backdrop for the magic or phantasmagoria of the summer night? Is it not water that saves the life of the thirsty traveller in the desert? And is it not the same cycle that transforms water into the white pure snow that forms the backdrop for a real Christmas atmosphere, or that makes the mountains sparkle with an alpine glow?
