1471. But today the government of society is still such that for many people giving birth to children becomes a question of finances, that is, a question of whether one can afford or cannot afford to have children. But as a perfectly healthy and natural marital urge or sexual desire insists on its absolute rights and demands satisfaction quite regardless of the individual's financial circumstances, the birth of every child means a terrible, indeed, for many, even a quite overwhelming burden for the human being in poor financial circumstances. That people have recommended or even fought to have foeticide or induced abortion legalised is a glaring seduction to infringe the fifth commandment, "Thou shalt not kill", and cannot possibly be the policy that will save society. Fighting poverty and the proletariat by killing individuals cannot possibly be expressive of real culture or civilisation, and particularly not since the world has wealth and opportunities for life in abundance. It will therefore not be doctors but politicians who are to remedy the misery that childbirth within society to a great extent is subjected to. It is not by killing and wiping out people but by fairly administering and distributing the assets and wealth of the Earth that real, true humaneness and culture is created.
