1484. And since it is only this antiquated morality that the religions and the sects and religious authorities pertaining to them have to offer terrestrial human beings of today, it is no wonder that these religions and spiritual authorities are losing more and more of their power and influence, indeed, even to the extent that they are sometimes held in contempt by the intellectuals of today, both outside and inside academic or scientifically trained circles and particularly by the youth, for whom the sexual problem is a particular burning issue. This does not of course mean that the religions represented by the church and the sects, with their outdated dogmas that are suited to people of the past, do not have something that a whole series of people need even today. If the opposite were the case they would not exist any longer. But there are hundreds of millions of people today that still find themselves almost one hundred per cent at a stage of marital evolution belonging to the past. And it is these millions that still cling to the churches and religious sects or communities. And from the point of view of these people the present higher stages and laws of sexuality will seem utterly "sodomitical". And this is one of the great contributing factors causing terrestrial mankind to be divided into two major groups: the "religious" and the "irreligious".
