The religious sects or moral societies cause the religious principle to petrify or calcify because they are in reality "dictatorship"
1488. It is beginning to be evident that these religious sects or modern moral societies cause to a great extent the old religions, and thereby the entire religious principle, to calcify or petrify in the intelligent part of the general consciousness of terrestrial mankind. And it does not make matters better that these religious sects or moral societies are more or less intolerant, and thereby wage war with one another in the same way that states or nations do. They believe that they should each conquer the entire world for their idea. The members and originator of each sect believe, as a rule, that the salvation of the world or terrestrial mankind can take place solely through membership of their particular sect or society. That such religious societies represent more a restraining of the mentality of terrestrial mankind, a mental enslavement of the individuals than a real practising of neighbourly love, is established as fact through their intolerance and tendency to persecute and denounce other religious societies. Is it thus nothing less than a desire for world supremacy camouflaged as morality that pervades all these religious societies. In reality it is "dictatorship".
