1489. Forming a sect or association on the basis of a "dictated morality" that imposes upon its members a certain number of more or less ascetic restrictions – even with regard to justified, vital or healthy physical and mental desires and functions – cannot possibly be "neighbourly love" in its purest form. It is to a greater or lesser extent merely a kind of "dressage", which in turn can exist solely as "dictatorship". That the perfect practising of neighbourly love as the "fulfilment of all the law" is not intended to be a mere display of "dressage" or the performances of an "animal trainer" is a matter of course for the advanced researcher. The practising of neighbourly love, which constitutes nothing other than the future "lasting peace" that is so fervently desired, cannot in principle be a mere circus performance on the great world arena with "trained animals" whose performances are merely blind automatic functions led by cracking whips, pistol shots and the shafts of spears. Peace must be a gift that means the highest happiness and joy for every individual, a gift bestowed on one's neighbour voluntarily and without outer influence, and not a "dictator's" display of how, out of his lust for power, he can turn living beings into blind automatons and playthings for his abnormal will or excessive vanity.
A dictatorship manifested by a real, spiritually "initiated" prince or king can be just as divine for an uninitiated or totally ignorant or unintellectual people, who cannot possibly be led in any other way – this method of guidance being therefore also the one that prevails in the childhood of mankind and is practised by initiated chiefs, pharaohs, kings, princes and now most recently by the great world redeemers – as this method of leadership or this dictatorship is insufferable, reprehensible and devastating for the present intelligent and academically trained part of terrestrial mankind. It is not so surprising that many people from this latter part of mankind turn their backs on ecclesiastical religion and thereby on all concepts of a godhead as things that belong exclusively to the past and to naivety. That they are hereby temporarily devoid of any mental or spiritual compass and must therefore become involved in wars, acts of violence, political struggles, intrigues, infringements of the law, amorality and cultural breakdown on a large scale is a matter of course. Without these errors and the bitter experiences they result in, there would be nothing whatsoever that could lead terrestrial mankind back to the acknowledgement of a really perfect life in an equally real and perfect culture and "absolute peace", and back to the acknowledgement of this "peace" as the manifestation of a Godhead or a living, all-loving providence.
