1604. As we have already pointed out, we find the zone of "death" itself or the spiral cycle's "kingdom of death" in its pure form in these two "one-poled beings", "Adam" and "Eve", whose consciousness is dominated by life's darkness in its pure form. We are familiar with this sphere in our daily lives as the "animal kingdom", the dwelling place of the killing principle, where "one man's death is another man's bread", and where it is "everyone for himself". Here we are in a kingdom or sphere in the universe where the ability to love one's neighbour has been eliminated in favour of the ability to love oneself, which has thus become a one hundred per cent condition of life. Imagine what truth has been handed down to mankind through all the classic fairy tales! What they previously regarded as pure imagination and fantasy has become living reality here. The core of the narrative in the fairy tales is that "princes" and "princesses" or beings on high, beings in the light, come under the influence of "witches" and "trolls", become "bewitched" by the force of darkness and transformed by it into sinister, primitive beings, and in other cases into phenomena that are "apparently dead", that have fallen into a "magical sleep" or are "turned to stone". None of these stories have in any way been able to outdo the great fairy tale of real life; indeed, they are simply nothing more or less than ingenious artistic descriptions of the real events and principles of this fairy tale of life, related and made intelligible to simple-minded, half-"animal" and half-"human" beings or the "bewitched" beings of light that are on the point of waking up from the "spell", from their "petrification" and "curse" to their "resurrection to eternal life", their divine liberation from the black forces of darkness. These "bewitched princes and princesses" symbolise "Adam" and "Eve" in their animal, physical organisms having completely lost their consciousness of their own lofty origin and identity as eternal sons of God who are elevated beyond time and space. Their "father", the "king", is the Godhead. The "wizard", "witch" or source of darkness is the "devil", who in turn is merely the beings' "bewitched" or clouded view of their eternal Father.
