1609. Since the "highest fire" transforms the living being into a one-poled being and thereby turns "femininity" and "masculinity" into specific bodily states of being, it maintains the living being's opportunity for experiencing the opposite of its real, eternal identity. Without this experience, it would never experience its real, eternal identity. For mental darkness is after all the absolutely only material through which it can discern its real existence of light. What is not "created" can be distinguished only through what is "created". "Eternity" can be revealed only through "time" and "space". "Life" can be distinguished only through "death", and can thereby be made accessible to sensory perception and experience. The highest fire is thus a phenomenon through which all creation, all sensory perception, all experience of life comes into existence. It is the living "flaming sword" of the Godhead and of the son of God. It is the "magic wand" of the fairy tales. It is the tool with which the "wizard" casts a spell on the king's son or the princess. And it is what the rescuing "fairy" or "angel" of light thus uses to break the spell and bring the bewitched prince and princess back to the light and to reality, to their original royal position.
