But since everything is alive, everything is life, this journey through stages from darkness to light, and from light to darkness, from imperfection to perfection and back again must be reflected in everything and everyone.And is this not one of the very greatest facts in existence?Is it not precisely this journey through light and darkness that underlies everything we call "cycles"?What is our experience of the "twenty-four-hour cycle"?Is it not a mental journey from darkness to light, a passage from night to day through the intermediary stages of morning and evening?And does not the "year", as we call it, reveal the same journey?Is not our experience likewise a mental journey from darkness to light, from winter to summer through the intermediary stages of spring and autumn?And what about our own terrestrial life?Is it not also an experience of the journey from night to day, from darkness to light, from winter to summer through the intermediary stages of spring and autumn?Is childhood not the same as night or winter?Is not a tiny baby the same as a leafless tree in the forest during the winter, having, like this tree, the germ of life within it?Is not the experience of maturity the same as the summer of the terrestrial life cycle?And are not youth and old age the same as the intermediary stages of morning and evening, spring and autumn, between the winter and summer of this cycle?
