1640. But can it be logical to regard and express as a "dead" thing, as a blind force of Nature, something that thus, through an eternal rhythm, an eternal "inhalation" and "exhalation", manifests one hundred per cent wisdom and love? Must we not, in order to be normal, recognise every phenomenon that manifests wisdom and love as a "living being"? Are not wisdom and love the absolute opposite of chance and chaos? Is it not best, for the sake of our own psyche, to regard this eternal breathing, this eternal cycle of life, this changeability of all things or their journey between the extreme poles of the contrasts or light and darkness, this revelation of wisdom and love, as a divine manifestation? How could one in the long run avoid arriving at this view when it is something one experiences on a daily basis? How can wisdom and love be products of chance? Are not wisdom and love the principal hallmarks of life? Within the part of the universe where the terrestrial human being sees most clearly, it would not dream of believing or having the opinion that wisdom and love are products of a stone, a mineral, a house or a collection of chemicals or other kinds of substance. Indeed, here there is no discussion whatsoever. It knows with absolute certainty that wisdom and love can be revealed or manifested only as a living being's expressions of life. So why should wisdom and love not be precisely the same where these phenomena emerge without us being able to see their originator? When the universe, through the cycle or the unfolding of energy within its structure, manifests precisely an even highly perfect living being's expressions of life, why then should we not indeed regard this universe as a living being? Any claim to the contrary is refuted by the cycle or the actual unfolding of energy around us. Why stick to a world view that is devoid of logical grounds when we live, move and have our being in a world or a universe that in itself, through its identity with wisdom and love, can exist only as one single great expression of life or manifestation of itself as a living, thinking and acting being? The analysis of the functions of the "highest fire" – the cycle or the journey in and between the culminations of light and of darkness, the journey between hunger and satiation – thus unshakably confirms the existence of the Godhead and turns all claims about chance into foolishness or superstition, which are in turn the symptoms of ignorance or cosmic death.
