In addition to arriving at the solution to the mystery of "man" and "woman" we have realised that before the divine command "Let there be light" there existed a corresponding divine command, namely "Let there be darkness"
1663. We were at the point in our analysis where the principle of the cycle or the "highest fire" had transformed the being into a "half-sex being", a being whose consciousness had at the same time been so reduced as to turn it into a genius at violating the laws of life and the greatest expert at creating the contrast to light.
And thus the being fulfilled the divine intention of being able to create darkness's absolutely vital reaction by virtue of which light could be marked out in such a way that it could become accessible to sensory perception.
But for the moment this divine genius, this expert at producing the material that shall mark out the light and thereby render possible the individual's experience of its own eternal existence, its own eternal being as one with the Godhead, the ruler of life, the creator of time and space, is merely from a cosmic point of view a "dead" being.
It has "surely died".
It is at the culmination of its eating of the "tree of knowledge" and has therefore, as the "Bible" expresses it, been "driven out of Eden" and been turned away from the "tree of life".
With its lack of cosmic knowledge and its genius at creating the contrast to darkness, it is evident that the being must fulfil the promise that God gave "Adam" and "Eve" (terrestrial mankind) about the Earth being cursed.
There was to be much sorrow and suffering.
The woman was to bring forth her children in sorrow, while access to one's daily bread, to the necessities of life, was to be possible only through sweat-dripping efforts.
And the divine promise was not exaggerated.
Access to bread, to life, was gained not merely by dripping sweat but to the very greatest extent by dripping blood.
Killing in order to live became a condition of life.
And thereby the divine command, "Let there be darkness", was carried out.
That this creation or carrying out of darkness in the divine world structure is really a one hundred per cent loving arrangement is here established as a radiant, unshakable fact for the high-intellectual researcher.
This has brought us to the solution to the mystery of darkness itself and the solution to the mystery of "man" and "woman" or the "male sex" and "female sex", and the principle and mission of their mystery.
We have arrived at an unshakable realisation that the divine will was not merely what the "Bible" expressed in the sentence "Let there be light", but that this divine will must also previously have uttered the command, "Let there be darkness".
