1669. The being's experience of light or feeling of the superterrestrial world is so meagre in relation to paradise itself that it can be likened only to a tiny ray of light escaping from a lavishly lit banqueting hall through a tiny chink or crack in a door. This is how far away from the kingdom of heaven, paradise or the perfect, complete experience of life that the culminating half-sex being is. It lives in a dark room outside paradise or the radiant banqueting hall of real life. And only through the tiny crack in the door into this banqueting hall does it have access to the light. It is thus in fact shut out from life's banqueting hall or the very culmination of the experience of life. But through being "one flesh" with a half-sex being of the opposite kind, it has thus access to the meagre ray of light in the chink in the door into the banqueting hall. That it clings to this tiny ray of light in the darkness is not so surprising. It is the only real detail or contrast to darkness and the only light by virtue of which the few other details in the dark room can be seen. All details in this dark room, which is to say the physical world of the culminating half-sex beings, are therefore characterised and coloured solely by the tiny ray of light. As this light from the chink in the door is the act of copulation or being "one flesh" with a half-sex being of the opposite kind, the world of the culminating half-sex being is thus a world of copulation. Everything in this world is concerned only with the reproduction of the species, marriage or copulation. All thoughts, instincts or inklings are concerned solely with gaining access to the vital ray from the chink in the door. If one cannot get to it, one is entirely in darkness. The first things to develop in the being during its journey downwards towards darkness and away from paradise were therefore organs that could react to the paradisiacal light and convert the superterrestrial feeling of well-being into experience in the physical body. And through the continuous attraction to the ray of light from paradise in the darkness, the organs that today are termed "reproductive organs" or "sexual organs" were gradually built up. They are thus the first organs for experiencing through which the light of paradise could be experienced on the physical plane.
