1674. The existence of the dark sexual sphere is thus something that mankind cannot be blamed for. It is a power that originates in a cause far more profound than the terrestrial human exercise of will. This exercise of will is just as powerless in the face of this sphere as it is powerless in the face of major volcanoes and earthquakes. The dark mental sphere is a link in the world structure itself, just as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and the course of the sun and the stars are. Every single phenomena of Nature has a mission and is a link in the logical intention and plan that has promoted the emergence of the Earth. From bright clouds, through liquid fire, through thunderously noisy volcanic wastes to the beginnings of the creation of an atmosphere, to the creation of sea and land, to the beginnings of vegetable life, to the appearance of the animal and the human being today, this intention has manifested itself as a marvel of artistic creation. Just as these stages in the emergence of the Earth have been natural, indispensable links in the completion of the goal or the plan that was needed in order that the Earth could become the magnificent residence for terrestrial spirit and culture that it has precisely the conditions for being able to be today, so too is mankind's sexual darkness a natural, indispensable link in the completion of the goal or the divine plan that will turn the terrestrial human being into a perfect being in "God's image", far above the bestial, killing and disastrous traditions. Just as the Earth had to have its volcanic traditions before attaining stillness and equilibrium under its continents and seas, so too must terrestrial mankind, in its process of becoming perfect, live through its volcanic traditions before attaining the stability, stillness and equilibrium under its mental continents and seas that are needed in order that its elevated spirit and culture or real eternal life can blossom in the fullness of its culmination, which is love.
