1707. Besides, he was now, as will be remembered, in a world in which he was completely alone. In the kingdom of bliss the living being is conscious absolutely only of his own past world, that is, in states he has already experienced. Everything in this world – both being and things – is memories. The only truly living being in this world is the being itself. It pervades and enlivens this entire world with its spirit. And it is easy to understand that if Adam, from being an unmanifested being in the outer world, were to be turned into a human being "in God's image", he would have to change considerably. And with this transformation, it was absolutely understandable that he first and foremost had to leave his inner world, and be made to communicate or interact with other living beings, an interaction that could result in exactly the opposite of neighbourly love: the creation of a contrast to the light, through which this could again become living, realistic, waking day-consciousness. The divine recognition that it was not good for Adam to be alone is thus substantiated as realistic fact or truth.
