Here it was that, while Adam was experiencing his inner world and complete exclusion from the outer world, the "creation of Eve" began.Here it was that the Godhead began to transform the "rib" from which "Eve" was to emerge.What kind of "rib" was it?Does this imply that all men today would have one more rib if "Eve" had not been created?Certainly not, the account handed down to us was neither created for, nor intended to, constitute a scientific or intellectual, literal analysis, but a symbol of the real crux or heart of the event.The terminology, the physical wording and the sentence structure were intended not to provide any kind of concrete analysis, but to express symbolically the core principle in what happened.We have already explained the meaning of Adam's "deep sleep".When it says that God made Eve from Adam's rib, it does so solely in order to point out that a radical transformation occurred in Adam's organism or innermost being, a transformation that completely changed Adam's form of existence and way of life.Adam became an entirely different being.What then in Adam's innermost being could bring about such a transformation, and was expressed as a "rib"?It was of course the being's major, main organ, the only one that can transform a being's form of life and structure, namely the organ that is the seat of the highest fire.Through eternal laws the sexual pole constellation of Adam, that is, the living being, began to change.
