Why the world redeemer's kingdom was not of this world
1715. That the world redeemer's way of being had an entirely different spiritual structure or structure of consciousness than that of the ordinary terrestrial human being is today not a hypothesis but an irrevocable fact substantiated and confirmed by people's complete lack of compliance with his doctrines. They quickly realised that he was not like them, but was something else entirely; indeed, he was nothing less than a godhead with a consciousness and way of being that no human being could possibly put into practice. His way of being was therefore conveyed as something that could be fulfilled only by the mortal son of God or the Godhead. It seemed completely inconceivable that one could "love" one's neighbour, that is to say, absolutely everyone regardless of sex. And how could this be possible for any human being in whose body the rays of the highest fire took the form of a specific sex and made its heart throb and blood surge for, and warm to, a particular, specific being of the opposite sex? How could one love with another kind of love or sympathy than that which the highest fire produced organically in one's flesh and blood? Love is not an act of will. It is an organic product like flesh and blood, like glandular secretions, like one's brown eyes or blue eyes, like one's blonde hair or dark hair. How could an organic product, a mental glandular secretion that could not possibly be produced in one's body or organism, trigger its effects in this organism? How could the ordinary terrestrial human being love with a kind of sympathy or love that has not yet become an organic function? The sympathetic faculty of the terrestrial human being was, as will be remembered, based on the organs of the one pole, which promote love for only a being of the opposite sex. It is therefore bound to be quickly established as fact that the terrestrial human being at the time of Christ and during the thousands of years that followed was not created in order to be able to "love its neighbour as itself". That the world redeemer could do so establishes of course the fact that there is a higher step for sympathy or the display of love than the step the ordinary terrestrial human beings are on, which is borne by the one pole, a step where pure neighbourly love is just as essential an element as male and female love or marital love is an essential element for the terrestrial human being. Here neighbourly love is just as concrete an organic product as male and female love is on the terrestrial human step. Here we therefore easily understand the words of the world redeemer when he says: "My kingdom is not of this world".
