1719. If one is to get to the bottom of the above-mentioned mystery, one must here – as everywhere else where it is a matter of getting directly to the absolute truth – develop oneself so as to be able to listen to Nature's own direct speech. And the revelation this speech gives us certainly does not show that the act of fertilisation between male and female is something "sinful", "impure" or "devilish". Since Nature has given people eyes to see with, feet to move themselves with and hands to grasp with, it can be only "sinful" not to use these gifts of Nature in the service of Nature. Can it be "sinful" to see, to walk, to use one's hands, when doing so is in favour of life or Nature? It must be self-evident that these gifts would not have been given to us by Nature if we were not meant to use them, which would have undermined Nature or life. Since Nature has given the individual the ability to see, it is only because the individual thereby gains more scope for preserving life. Since Nature has given the same individual the ability to hear, to feel, to walk, it can likewise be only in order to make it easier for the individual to maintain its contact with life. And is it not conceivable that the same is true of hands? Is it not also conceivable that Nature has given the individual them in order that it can use them to preserve and protect Nature? And is it not logical to regard all the other organs that together form the living being's physical body as being intended to be in favour of life? Are not the heart, lungs, liver, glands and so on all gifts from Nature's hand through which the individual can experience, promote and preserve Nature or life? Does not illness, pain, death and destruction set in wherever these gifts of Nature are not used in favour of life? Does not an arm or a hand die if it is tied tightly to the body and can never be moved or used? And is not the same the case with a foot? And does one not know from experience that exactly the same is the case with sight? If one shut beings up in dark caves where there was no light whatsoever, they would gradually go blind. There is no getting away from the fact that every organ Nature has given us dies if it is not used in the service of life. It thus dies not merely through not being used but also through being used contrary to Nature or life. If we use the gifts of Nature, for example our own organism or any part of it, to sabotage life, we sabotage ourselves. If we murder and kill or prevent life from developing, we will first and foremost promote misfortune and death in our own fate. This is what Nature itself tells us independently of sacred books, prophets and sages, independently of religiousness, church attendance and other kinds of sectarianism and forms of worship.
