1726. From the above analyses it is not difficult to see why Jesus was "one with the Father", and why he was perceived as having been "born of a virgin" and as having been "conceived of the holy spirit" or as having God himself as his direct father. He was thus animated completely by a sensory dimension that lies beyond both the function of instinct and the function of intelligence. He revealed wisdom with authority, speaking as he did from his own ability to experience – a way of experiencing that was not of this world but which, in a wakingly day-conscious form, allowed him to sense in harmony with the keynote of the universe, allowed him to be beyond time and space, allowed him to be one with eternity and infinity, and thereby one with immortality and his eternal Father. It is a matter of course that a human being with such a psyche was perceived as a supernatural or superterrestrial being that no terrestrial human being could imagine emulating to even the slightest extent. That this being's appearance was intended by Providence to be a model for every other human being's appearance was unthinkable. To be able to love one's neighbour as oneself was, as will be remembered, an organic impossibility for very masculine and very feminine beings. This organic structure of theirs determined that they could be happy only when they were in love with or in possession of a being or beings of the opposite sex.
