1743. It is thus the beings' one-poled state – their purely male and female state – that promotes war between peoples and between one man and another. What could prevent such beings' tendencies to live at the expense of others? What could make these beings live, so to speak, exclusively in order to serve others? What could make these beings forgive a supposed injustice committed against them? Their thinking, and thereby their will, cannot possibly be influenced by a sense or feeling that they have not yet been able to produce because they lack sufficiently developed organs in their consciousness or sphere of perception. It is these beings, who are still almost devoid of the faculty of neighbourly love, that make it a condition of daily life that one has to lock one's doors and store one's valuable assets in thick armoured steel boxes. It is these beings that determine that states have to maintain a police force and a judicial system with its prisons and jails, as well as it is also these beings that determine that having a standing preparedness for war or military is necessary. It is these beings that constitute the majority of society's so-called "criminals" or "underworld". It is such beings that unscrupulously can bring death and mutilation, sorrow and misery upon all fellow beings or, in brief, on all life if they think that doing so will give them a personal advantage.
