1751. As we have seen, within the ranks of "men" and "women" an entirely different psyche has arisen than that which is in reality purely "male" and "female" or purely "masculine" and "feminine". Where this new psyche has advanced furthest and entirely controls the terrestrial human beings, it has nothing else in common with the robust "man" or "woman" in their pure forms than their purely external physical, bodily principle. Quite regardless of the inner mental state of these beings, they are perceived and registered in society as "men" and "women" respectively according to their external "feminine" and "masculine" sexual organs, which still do not deviate significantly from those of "man" and "woman" in their pure forms. And these beings must of course be judged in this way for the time being, even though they, with their inner mental sphere, constitute an entirely different state of being. Since special bodies for the mental state of these beings do not yet exist on Earth – the evolution of the new sympathetic faculties having not yet come so far, even though the first incipient contours of a new organism already exist – one must to the very greatest extent accustom oneself to the fact that the terrestrial human being's "male" and "female organism" is no longer borne by "men" and "women" in their pure forms, but on the contrary by beings that are being transformed into a far more elevated form of existence.
