The spiral cycle, unlike the material cycles, is not an "outer" cycle but an "inner" one.

Here in this cycle it is not something outer that is left behind or something outer that is coming, such as is the case with the material cycles.Night and day, morning and evening, summer and winter and the other physical cycles are of course merely outer events that the living being finds itself in, and which it can therefore experience only as something outer.The cosmic spiral cycle, however, is something inner.It is a transformation of the very structure of the living being's own desires or wishes, so that its desires or wishes are satiated or fulfilled, thus making way for the emergence of new wishes and desires.The living being can never be without desire.One of its eternal principles is, as it will be remembered, the primordial desire on which is based all existing forms of the desires and longings that occur in daily life, and their satisfaction.
