1780. Wherever life reveals itself, it can occur only through an interplay of the reactions from these two poles or primordial organs. Life or the experience of life cannot therefore be revealed except through the inseparable cooperation of these two organs. For this reason every living being, which is precisely the absolutely only phenomenon through which the manifestation and experience of life can occur, is a combination of these two poles: the "masculine" and the "feminine". These two poles constitute a supreme, eternal sensory principle that guarantees their source a corresponding eternal possibility for creating the opposite or contrast on which every experience is based. The being can thus never get into a situation in which its experience of life ceases. This principle, with its two manifesting poles, is the foundation of the individual's superconsciousness and is rooted in its other principle, namely "X2".
