1782. Since the other form of sympathy or love, as already mentioned, is promoted by complete unselfishness, it will promote only the welfare of other living beings because it will prevent its originator from allowing itself to be served and will thereby cause it to live entirely in order to serve others. It is a matter of course that such a being's behaviour, wherever it is manifested, will be in favour of the world order. Since the universe consists of living beings, it is evident that when each of these beings, which are thus cells in this universe, can find happiness and well-being only in serving their fellow beings, there can be nothing but mental sunshine, light and happiness within any group of such beings. These beings are thereby completely in harmony with the keynote of the universe, which is the bestowal of life, which is peace and joy, not war, murder, hatred, persecution and oppression or the selfish exploitation of one's fellow beings.
