1794. We are already familiar with these zones and know that the collected experience of life from the culmination of darkness to the culmination of light constitutes six zones. And we know that these six zones form the perfect cycle, that is to say, the course of the individual's life from the culmination of light, through the culmination of darkness and forward to the culmination of light again, and so on continuously. The experience of life does not exist outside this form, for then it would be outside one or other of the two principles of contrast, and complete stillness, which in turn means the complete cessation of sensory perception or the experience of life, would then set in.What could then start life up again?Absolute death would then have to prevail in the form of an eternal non-manifestation.The eternally existing "divine Something" could only exist completely devoid of consciousness, thought, will and movement. No colour, no light, no darkness, but a complete "nothing" would dominate what we today call the experience of life.During the culmination of darkness there thus still exists in the living being's psyche or consciousness exactly the amount of light that enables it to continue through the cycle towards the culmination of light, just as during the culmination of light in the same being's psyche there is exactly the amount of darkness that enables it to continue through the cycle towards the culmination of this contrast.Life, therefore, can neither die nor cease. It has existed and must continue to exist for all eternity. This eternal existence is thus maintained by the fact that this eternal principle of cycles transforms the individual's ability to experience from a latent state or minimum to a culmination or maximum, and from this state forward to a minimum again, and forward to a maximum again, and so on continuously for all eternity.
