1800. Since it is thus a fact that the psyche of terrestrial mankind is heading for a cosmic spring, which thus means into a gentler mental state in which brutality and ruthlessness, injustice, persecution and oppression are icy regions that are in the process of melting, there must of course be something that produces this mental warmth. The first awakening of early spring, spring itself and summer cannot possibly come about without warmth, just as a true winter cannot possibly exist or create a domain without snow, frost and coldness. What, then, is this mental or cosmic summer's source of warmth, which can thus decrease and increase, thereby producing the alternating appearance and disappearance of a corresponding winter and summer? Well, we already know that this source of warmth exists as the "highest fire", and that this fire is the sexual principle existing in the living being. We know that this principle alone forms the basis for the same beings' sympathetic faculties. It is this fire that thus determines the beings' sympathy or antipathy, thereby in turn creating mental summer and winter and the mental climatic transitions between these extremes, namely the spring and autumn of the spiral cycle. When it is this fire that thus determines the mental seasons – winters and springs, summers and autumns – it is in reality the same fire that promotes absolutely all sensory perception, creation or manifestation and experience. We are here at the source of life itself. The only thing that is above this source is its eternal originator, namely the eternally existing divine something or "X1".
