1818. The first stage of unadulterated amorous love largely resembles real love. The mobilised mating state has also, because of this, been given the name of "love", and is praised and celebrated as such by poets and writers. Nor can it of course be denied that amorous love at the above-mentioned stage is a reflection of the kingdom of heaven manifested in flesh and blood, and is a superterrestrial light revealed in terrestrial matter. It cannot be denied that, in its innermost, narrowest field in the mentality or psyche of the being that is in love, amorous love at this stage is divine. Here it is a shining light of life, a life-giving and health-promoting force that creates zest for life and joy in living. The being that is in love is thus in a situation where it seems as if he or she encounters in his or her beloved something immensely elevated, indeed, as if his or her beloved were the Godhead Himself. Their hearts throb, their cheeks blush, and they regard themselves as far too insignificant to be in their beloved's proximity, but they live, however, in a colossal and consuming ecstasy; they are in a paradise on Earth.
Here in the "desire A" of amorous love we have thus a symbol of the real human consciousness or the unselfish attitude of neighbourly love that will create true peace. This "stage A" is thus a relic of the heavenly paradise, a weak ray from the highest worlds of a previous spiral cycle where absolute neighbourly or universal love has become a perfect, day-conscious, habitual function or natural way of being.
