The "zone of happy marriages"
1823. As we have now seen, amorous love or the love for one's beloved is not as pure and unselfish as it seems to feel at first. If it evokes a response in the beloved, and the person who is in love has his or her love fully requited so that the former becomes the latter's greatest desire, their relationship is perfect. Nature has already married the two beings, whether or not they have the blessing of spiritual or secular authorities. And as long as this relationship lasts, no other power is needed for their life together; indeed, there is absolutely no other power that is greater than mutual amorous love or mating love. Here we find the perfect mental conditions for the continued reproduction of the species and for the creation and upbringing of offspring. This perfect mating state is generally applicable to the more highly developed animals. They have no authority or judicial system to shore up their relationship. They need no marriage certificate or legal confirmation to guarantee that they will live up to their commitments. Here we are among these beings in the true sphere of marriage and we can call this the "zone of happy marriages". It is here that heaven on Earth is experienced.
