1851. After now having passed areas A, B and C, where the animal kingdom's or the one-poled beings' branch of the highest fire culminates and begins to degenerate, we will now go on to analyse the next area, which we will call "area D", whose beings we will call "human beings D". In this area the beings are almost totally devoid of interest in normal, married life. Their ability to fall in love with the opposite sex no longer exists, or exists, at best, only as a rudimentary phenomenon. Outwardly they do still appear as men and women, but in these men and women the opposite pole is so much to the fore that it dominates them. In this zone we therefore see men who are overly feminine or womanly, and women who are overly masculine or manly in their daily behaviour and appearance.
