That which is abnormal in the feminine man and the masculine woman
1860. That which is abnormal in the psyche of the feminine man and the masculine woman is that one of their vital organic functions is put out of action to far too great an extent, thus depriving the beings in question of the contact with the regulatory influence of their own natural and supporting pole that they cannot in fact live without – at least not without manifesting a corresponding degree of mental disability. The normal male organism and the normal female organism cannot suddenly be deprived of the influence of their ordinary masculine or feminine supporting pole without their experience of life being crippled and their organism becoming an inadequate instrument for this experience on the steps that the beings in question have still not outlived and which therefore constitute their mental home or the home of their psyche. Thus the tendency to fall in love, for instance, is one of those not-yet-outlived things that determine that the feminine man and the masculine woman are predestined to live in a state of unrequited love.During the normal evolution of the poles the tendency to fall in love is completely outlived before the being becomes fully wakingly day-conscious in the domain of its opposite pole.It will therefore be devoid of any ability to fall in love with its own sex.Its release of sympathetic feelings will be true neighbourly love in its absolutely purest form. And thus we have here the perfect human being who by nature, as a truly innate organic function, can fulfil the great commandment: "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself".
