1863. Here Nature has thus put a stop to the continuation of marriage. Since the feminine man can really fall in love only with the masculine or manly man, and the latter cannot in turn possibly fall in love with any other being than the normal woman, there is, as previously mentioned, no possibility of creating happiness in the above-mentioned inauthentic marriage or sexual life together. It could never be based on anything other than disastrous, warped relationships that in the worst case could ultimately lead to depression and suicide for the person who is in love, after he or she had suffered the most extreme agonies of jealousy and the slander, gossip, scorn and derision of other people, quite apart from the many cases in which such a life together has cost the feminine partner a terrible, ruinous, financial price. These tendencies towards living together thus stem from the normal states of the poles that have not yet been lived out but are inhibited, and thus belong normally only to the living together of perfect male beings and female beings and not of two partners who cannot possibly, in a way that promotes happiness, completely and mutually fulfil or satisfy the sexual needs that are the very cornerstone or mainstay of life. Here we must of course add that the masculine or manly woman will experience the same unpleasantnesses associated with living together. That the life together of these beings can be maintained only by resignation or renunciation and exceptional goodwill from one or both partners does not of course make this relationship natural. It can be nothing but unnatural and thereby to a corresponding extent insufficiently happy just like unhappy marriages between human beings who are degenerated as male and female beings but to a predominant extent still appear as such. It is in reality only a continuation of marital life's degenerating or dying state that appears in the zone of unhappy marriages. It is the dusk that falls where the really masculine man's and feminine woman's sexual sun has gone down behind the marital horizon. Here it is the night of the marital cycle that is drawing near. The sexual, animal proprietary right to the highest fire (the sexual principle) in one's neighbour is not the ultimate goal or meaning of life. This fire is not to go on being only a driving force that is tied and bound in the form of a dominating process of reproduction, but is in the process of becoming an overwhelming source of mental warmth, light and well-being or the absolute pure love that emanates, without monopolisation and reservation, from individual to individual as a single, sparkling inspiration of culminating mutual caresses exchanged between everything and everyone. Then the human being has become "God's image" and thereby a citizen in the sphere of humaneness that constitutes the "kingdom of heaven".
