But the fact that there is no perfect satisfaction of the masculine woman's and the feminine man's derailed marital desires is not the only trouble that befalls the beings during their passage through the various stages of the transformation of the sexual poles. They are indeed all beings that deviate more or less from the great multitude or flock, whose beings live in blissful ignorance of the transformation of the sexual poles and have not as yet noticed its symptoms in their own being. They therefore regard any sexual deviance from the sexuality of their flock as abnormal and view it with an antipathy towards abnormality that has been inherited from the animal kingdom. Those beings that deviate from the sexuality of the flock therefore meet a lot of animosity and misunderstanding from the beings of the flock, who, in their ignorance, believe they can change organic functions with judicial sentences; indeed, even capital punishment has been used. In addition to having a bad name in public opinion, these beings' way of being is simply one of gossipmongers' or scandalmongers' most sought-after, favourite subjects. Any news that touches on another being's sexuality is sensational. There are beings that simply have a perpetual hunger for such news, not merely because they can use it to make themselves interesting in circles of like-minded beings but also because they find in the description of some of these obscure items of news details that in all secrecy bring about a kind of erotic pleasure or feeling of sensual pleasure in their own psyche. They do not therefore possess within themselves the innocence or purity that can entitle them to throw stones at their fellow beings by making evil or damaging revelations about their sexual psyche. As a consequence of this, the beings whose sexuality deviates from that of the flock must live in ill-fated secretiveness and lies in order to hide their psyche. That this enforced hypocrisy is enough to result in such people having to live in a hell of frayed nerves and its associated states of suffering ought surely to be a matter of course. But with growing scientific information in the truly democratically governed countries, conditions have improved a lot for these beings. The intellectual or more advanced, developed section of the population is now becoming familiar with the nature of these beings, just as these latter beings can also live in peace without any persecution by the law, in so far as their nature is such that it does not constitute a danger for minors and does not offend against public decency.
      But since this way of living, deviating as it does from the life of the flock, is, as previously mentioned, one of the favourite subjects of gossip, there will exist between the originators of this way of being and the primitive or ignorant section of the population a stinking, stupefying and antipathy-arousing smoke screen that here, just as in all other situations, obscures the real truth behind the outer phenomena and stifles the happiness of its victims with the slough of untruthfulness. It would be of great benefit if these scandalmongers and gossipmongers thought a little about the Eldorado of stupidity they are burying themselves in by showering mental sewage on the unknown, instead of investigating what it is they are actually persecuting. They would then be appalled to see how they, with the mental loud-speaker activity of their craving for sensationalism, contribute to turning an apparently harmless little wound of abnormality in their neighbour into a yawning cavern and seat for all kinds of mental inflammation or bubonic plague. It is this suffocating smoke screen of untruthfulness and antipathy or intolerance that makes for the success of a greater or lesser inquisition or persecution of people who are affected by the transformational process of sexual evolution. Here the persecution is just as meaningless and cruel or satanic as the burning of witches in the name of Jesus or death at the stake for all those who, because of the evolution of their spirit, began to be able to get an inkling of the way the religions or sectarianism stupefies and blackens the factual, divine circumstances or the absolute wisdom or truth with smoke. What harm can it do that two beings that, because of society's lack of protection, were seduced in the distant past and, because of the effects of this, are now cast out onto the byroads of abnormality, seek contact and, in mutual understanding and sympathy, as it were, give one another support? By so doing they get a kind of crutch for their marital disability by means of which they can more or less continue to live their lives. These beings have no talent for marriage to the opposite sex and must therefore do without the caresses, the happiness and the warmth of a loving spouse, children and kinship that the normal, maritally minded terrestrial human being in a normal marriage can revel in and which can promote and nourish its entire zest for life, inspiration and joy in life.
      Those whom Nature has cut off from this normality or this vital inspiration are compelled to try to compensate for or remedy this disability in another way. Just as someone who has lost his natural leg in one way or another helps himself with an artificial leg, and can thereby more or less overcome his disability, so too must he in all other ways reduce chronic disability with "crutches". And it will therefore be quite normal that beings that do not have the ability to enter into and sustain a marital relationship with a being of the opposite sex seek contact with a being of their own sex in whom they find mutual understanding and, in the like-mindedness that arises from this, attain something of the love or sympathy that no terrestrial human being can live without. Where shall a being that by nature deviates from the flock find understanding and love within a flock of beings that certainly call themselves "human beings" but still live to a great extent under the instinctual, animal law of the jungle, the object of which is to hack to pieces all life that deviates from the life of the flock and is therefore deemed unentitled to live?
