1866. We will call the next type of beings in terrestrial human sexuality's zone of transformation "human beings E". They constitute beings whose sexual focus swings between their own sex and the opposite sex. They can have periods when they are focused on their own sex, and afterwards have periods when they are focused on the opposite sex, only to swing back to their own sex again, and so on continuously. It is extremely rare that these beings enter into married life. And in the cases where they do so, they are naturally not particularly happy, just as they are not happy outside of marriage either. They are beings in whom the structure of the opposite sex is in the process of penetrating their waking day-consciousness. Here men are thus in the process of becoming conscious of their own feminine nature, just as women are in the same way becoming conscious of their masculine nature. This state of evolution is in itself entirely normal and will not create any particularly unpleasant situations for the human being whose intellectuality, morality and relationship to God is more than a match for the situation. Such a human being will not offend its fellow beings with its particular nature. It is far too clever to not be able to create a certain contact between itself and its surroundings so that its nature does not become far too conspicuous and arouse antipathy and disgust in other people, that is, in the so-called "normal" people. Indeed, those around these beings will hardly notice their nature beyond the fact that they as a rule are unmarried. Because of their awakening opposite pole they have great spheres of interest in art, literature and music, and sometimes in science too. Many of these beings therefore manifest themselves as great artists, geniuses or virtuosos, while others sometimes devote themselves pre-eminently to religious matters, becoming priests or leaders of religious movements, and so on. For them all it holds true that their moral standard and relationship to God has such a structure that it protects them against all forms of derailment and thus keeps them within the straight and natural line of evolution. If these beings have sexual relations with beings of their own sex, it takes place in a very intimate and unselfish way and with no tendency to fall in love, no desire to live together and none of the difficulties that ensue from this.
