1872. This mental straitjacket around the development of the highest fire in the human being has in the first instance the task of preventing the beings from leaving the ordinary marital zone of males and females far too prematurely. If this almost impenetrable mental iron curtain had not been wrapped around the marital male and female state, becoming sexually derailed would have been far too easily accessible. Millions upon millions of beings would have taken to seeking sexual relations and sexual release with their own sex long before this had become an inner, organic desire caused by evolution and held in check by ethics or morality. It would thus be only an outer phenomenon caused by seduction, a phenomenon that, through habitual practice, would have become general, habitual debauchery in the same way as using tobacco and alcohol today are a common form of debauchery or vice. But the sexual vice would be far more catastrophic in nature, indeed, the most dangerous of all vices, for it is in itself an assault on, or a sabotage of, the actual creative principle in the being. If the above-mentioned "iron curtain" had not been wrapped around the terrestrial human, marital, male and female state, and the beings' sexual relations with beings of their own sex had become a common vice, the Earth would ultimately have been depopulated. Terrestrial human reproduction can, as is known, be furthered only by the sexual connection between a male being and a female being. But when male beings seek sexual contact with male beings, and female beings in the same way seek female beings, this must, in this case, inevitably mean the downfall of the species or the race. But before mankind on Earth would have died out because of its sexual vice, its individuals would have sunk down into all kinds of abnormalities. Mankind, previously so radiant and reproductive, would thus ultimately be merely a collection of dying psychopaths. But no living being is destined to downfall. Thanks to the strict law of Moses and similar laws about the sexuality of beings, mankind's sexual normality is maintained throughout the epoch in which any being's sexual connection with its own sex would have inevitably been a catastrophic vice, a sabotage of the continuation of mankind through the acting out of the sexually male and female sexuality or reproductive process inherited from the animal kingdom. And without this acting out, all roads to initiation, to cosmic consciousness and the ensuing spiritual sovereignty would be completely barred. The human being in God's image would be an impossibility, and the Bible's promise of this so radiant state for the terrestrial human being would be only a utopia or platitude.
