1876. Since human being H has not been influenced by any kind of sexual seduction or other phenomena that accelerate the development of the opposite pole at the expense of the organic function of the as-yet not outlived ordinary pole, this function is thus not at any point in time unnaturally interrupted because of a far too premature growth of the functions of the opposite pole. The manifestation of human being H will therefore in reality, throughout its entire epoch of pole development, be governed by its ordinary pole, with, however, the change in favour of the neighbourly love and cosmic insight that the natural and harmonious development of the opposite pole gives rise to. Its ordinary pole will thus still be the paramount factor in this being's appearance. As previously mentioned, this will result in this being keeping the appearance of belonging to the sexual sphere's so-called "normal" beings up to a very advanced stage. It can have a very great ability to feel sympathy for its own sex, but since the last little outgrowth of the nerve fibres in the opposite pole's organic structure that are to connect the same pole's functions with the physical brain, and thereby introduce these functions as thoughts into the being's waking, physical day-consciousness, is still lacking or is quite unfinished, this sympathy is as yet not mixed with conscious sexual vibrations. This sympathy does not therefore feel like any sexual attraction towards, or longing for, a sexual satisfaction or release with the object of the above-mentioned sympathy. The beings of the opposite sex are still the object of human being H's sexual attraction, despite the fact that it can actually embrace many of the beings of its own sex with a sympathy and devotion that sometimes in certain situations is very closely related to that which it feels for the opposite sex. Indeed, here it can even feel something of the same jealousy or envy that it otherwise feels only in connection with the opposite sex. When the desire for ownership of the life and activities of close friends and relatives is thus more or less expressed in the psyche of human being H, it is due precisely to the functions of the opposite pole, which, because of its as yet unfinished special ability to experience in this area, is unconsciously present in its psyche. It can therefore to a corresponding extent feel the impulses or effects of these functions only through the effects of the ordinary pole with which they feel at one. The effects of the opposite pole cannot therefore at this stage create any sexual desire or demand for sexual release with the being's own sex, as is the case when the effects of the same pole have developed to the stage where their connection with the brain arises. Through a particular, special ability to experience, the effects of the opposite pole are now separated from the effects of the ordinary pole and become, like these, an independent special manifestation in the being's waking day-consciousness and here constitute a corresponding, waking, conscious, new decisive factor in the being's sexual structure and changed mental focus on its own sex. But then the being is no longer a human being H; it belongs to the next category of beings on the normal line of evolution in the epoch of sexual pole transformation.
