1881. Imperceptibly the advanced human being H gradually slips into becoming a "human being I". This being's conduct is at the height of humaneness and morality. Its talent for neighbourly love dominates so overwhelmingly that a derailment here is completely impossible. It simply cannot find it in its heart to create any form of misfortune, sorrow or suffering for other beings. It regards it as a matter course to resign itself, to do without and to suffer if it, by doing so, can make others happy. Its humane and neighbourly loving conduct in combination with its complete inability to fall in love reveal that this being has come very far in the transformation of its sexual poles. Its opposite pole is almost as predominant in its psyche as its ordinary pole is. The last sexual veil that was previously a safeguard against the intrusion of the sexual functions of the opposite pole into its waking day-consciousness has now fallen. The being has thereby become conscious of its opposite pole and can now feel or sense separately in this pole's domain. But because of its superior talent for love and its ensuing humane attitude to its neighbour and its surroundings, it does not bother anyone with its particular sexual orientation. Its sexual needs will never in any case whatsoever be aroused or fulfilled by circumstances that mean unpleasantness, sorrow and suffering for any other being. It regards it as a matter of course to resign itself, to do without and to suffer if it is in relationships where making others happy demands this. This, its humane and neighbourly loving conduct in combination with its complete inability to fall in love, reveals that the sexual transformation of the being is completely finished. Its sympathetic structure and orientation are now no longer limited to the sphere of its ordinary pole or the opposite sex. It can now wakingly day-consciously also feel sexual well-being through the functions of its opposite pole. But its ensuing sexual needs will never in any case whatsoever be fulfilled at the expense of the sexual and material happiness and well-being of others. It would rather refrain from having its sexual desires satisfied than it would embark on sexual phenomena of a doubtful nature. And should it in spite of everything get involved in a sexual situation dominated by disharmony, unpleasantness and degradation, one can be assured that this would occur on the basis of the other party's pretence, egoistic ingratiation and not entirely honestly fulfilled promises or kept agreements. Such a refined sexual hypocrite is as a rule to be found among blackmailers, swindlers or chronically, morally derailed beings of both sexes. These beings are all more or less virtuosos at pretending when, by doing so, they are able to gain material reward. Nothing is sacrosanct for these asocial or morally defective fortune-hunters, not even violence or murder. Sometimes extremely great knowledge of human nature and mental stability is demanded in order for one not to fall for such an amoral chameleon, and particularly when such a being, despite its more or less conspicuous derailment, is after all so one-poled that it still retains the semblance of belonging to the so-called sexually "normal" beings.
